This particular submarket is one of the prime main streets locations, accommodating major international and local brands. Total mall space in Kolkata is 3.9 million square feet (msqf) with an overall vacancy rate of 3.1% as of Q1 2015. Most of the malls (barring a few in the peripheral locations) have been doing well with an occupancy of over 95%. Approximately 1.2 msqf of mall space is likely to be added within 9-12 months, taking the total mall space to over 5.0 msqf.

MERLIN ACROPOLIS, RAJDANGA MAIN ROAD

Merlin Acropolis is expected to be operational this year on Rajdanga Main Road in South-east submarket. It is a part of mixed-use development with a total retail area of 288,000 sqf.
