Jakarta

Jakarta, the capital and the largest city in Indonesia, with a population of approximately 10 million, is the center for commercial activity. High per capita income, dominant middle class and rising purchasing power have accentuated the demand for contemporary retail, paving an opportunity for international retailers in the city.

Over time, shopping malls have seen improved occupancy owing to relocations and entry by international retailers. There are a number of shopping malls present and under construction that will provide options for expansion across the city.

The official metropolitan area, is known as Jabodetabek, a name formed by combining the initial syllables of Jakarta, Bogor, Depok, Tangerang, Bekasi. The population of Greater Jakarta (Jabodetabek Region) is 30.76 million.
