Cali

CaliCali is one of the main industrial and economic centers in the country as well as the main urban, economic, industrial and agrarian center in southwest Colombia. It is self-proclaimed the Salsa capital of the world and is home to nearly 2.3 million inhabitants.

La Feria de Cali is the event that lures more visitors to the city. Since 1957 is celebrated between December 25th and the 30th with events across the entire city, such as La Feria Taurina, el Reinado Comunero and El superconcierto.

La Sultana del Valle, as the city is also know, is also an important business and retail center. It has an important offer of shopping malls, such as Chipichape and Unicentro, two of the most iconic, as well as a variety of corporate buildings and business centers that makes it an attractive place for investors.

The main transportation system of the city MIO is one of the most effective and better managed in the country and is an example of the entrepreneurial prowess of the caleños.

Unicentro is one of the largest shopping malls in the city and along with Chipichape one of the most iconic. Cali is a city with great cultural diversity and its exquisite cuisine is an example of it, featuring patties, tamales, “arroz atollao”, with a wet consistency, prepared with spicy pork sausage, pork, and potatoes; and the delicious “sancocho de gallina”.

Besides other traditional foods such as the “cahmpú”, “cholao” and “aborrajado”, and desserts like “manjar blanco”, “cocadas” and “macetas del valle” one can find several gastronomic options for all types of palates.

Most of the international cuisine offer in the city is located along the eastern side of town, in districts such as Ciudad Jardín and Granada.
